The Internet is changing our lives. Scholarship, politics, education, medicine, and personal relationships are all undergoing changes as a result of the net. Not only is the accessibility of knowledge changing but also the handling thereof and the understanding of what knowledge actually is. The Internet revolution poses pressing ethical questions. How can we use knowledge responsibly in the Internet age? Who is responsible for selecting and structuring knowledge? What effects does the Internet have on our quality of life? The conference /Knowledge on the Net/ analyzes the impact of the Internet on the basis of some selected fields of human life and puts the ethical question at centre stage.
